OT: commie flu number fudging in Florida

FOX 35 Investigation Reveals Inflated Florida Coronavirus Numbers

formatting link
Seems a bunch of labs have been inflating positivity rates. Some are at 100%,

27.66%, 33.33, 37.10, 40, 43.13, 44.44, 50, 55, 57.14, 59.23, 60, 87.5, 91.18, and 100%

The report showed that Orlando Health had a 98 percent positivity rate. However, when FOX 35 News contacted the hospital, they confirmed errors in the report. Orlando Health’s positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as in the report.

Hmmmmm. I wonder if there is any financial self interest in reporting inflated numbers?

By the way, according to the Governor, 85% of their ICU space is for things OTHER than the commie flu.

Actual numbers:

Joint Information Center on COVID-19 for the State of Florida

There are a total of 269,811 Florida cases*** with 4,242 deaths related to COVID-19.

Florida state population is ~ 21.5 million.

Breitbart claim:

"A FOX 35 investigation released on Monday discovered an inflation of coronavirus cases by the Florida Department of Health. The Sunshine State’s health authorities misreported the number of persons testing positive for coronavirus in its aggregation and publication of test results from laboratories."

What the Fox investigation apparently actually found:

"FOX 35 anchor Charles Billi explained the impetus for the investigation. He said, “We found numerous labs that are only reporting positive test results, so they show a 100-percent positivity rate. That got our attention.”

“FOX 35 News went on to speak with the Florida Department of Health on Tuesday. They confirmed that although private and public laboratories are required to report positive and negative results to the state immediately, some have not. Specifically, they said that some smaller, private labs were not reporting negative test result data to the state.”

So the issue is the percentage of tests that are positive, not the total number of positive test results, ie the number of people in FL that are infected. Also, who runs FL? It's DeSantis, a REPUBLICAN who's on about the same denial page as Trump. So, why would the FL dept of health be deliberately lying and fudging numbers to make them worse? And the news isn't being driven by the rate of positive tests, it's being driven by the number of new cases, hospitalizations and deaths. Are the hospitals that are nearing capacity "fudging" too?

You're truely an idiot if you believe anything from that site.

"Florida has a well-deserved reputation as America's weirdest state, so perhaps the pandemic punishment being meted out to us right now shouldn't come as a shock. A 1948 Fortune magazine study observed: "Florida is a study in abnormal psychology, useful in signaling the hidden derangements of the national mood." A lot of bad trends in American life find their most bizarre and refined forms in the Sunshine state, which is why "Florida Man" has become shorthand for the bad behavior of too many state residents.

As far as the present pandemic is concerned, the simplest and most convincing explanation for why Florida is experiencing an explosion of Covid-19 cases it that it is an extreme case of the broader American failure to take the pandemic seriously.

The Guardian? Perhaps, you mean Breightbart?

The Guardian is kind of strange. Sometimes they are good, sometimes they are really off the wall

Breightbart has to stay accurate as they have a self declared political bias, unlike American Pravda that claims to be unbiased and as far from it.

And you can verify this by checking where Breightbart cited:

See any variation? See any hidden political agenda? This is the difference between a self declared political journal and propagandists who claim to be unbiased.

Somebody please tell these condescending Limeys about California! Oh Boy! Florida is the height of normalcy when compared to California! California is also known as the PRC (People's Republic of California).

And Florida is ran by a Republican governor, which is why Florida gets all this crap thrown at it. New York, on the other hand is run by a Democrat as is California and the Press is completely silent, especially silent about all the folks Cuomo butchered by forcing infected patients back into nursing homes. Oh but the wore face diapers!

Did you hear a single peep out of American Pravda or Limey Condescension Network about Florida BARRING infected patients from re-entering nursing homes? And mention about the special facilities set up for them? Crickets? Frogs?

Ahh. Spoken like a truly condescending Limey with no clue what is actually going on, except for what American Pravda and their Agenda based journalism presents.

Oh and in case any Brits take offense at the Limey tag, there is a difference between thoughtful, considerate Brits and Condescending Limeys. The former is a pretty nice crowd to have around. The latter, the world can do without.

And then having screwed this totally, having wasted the 4 months that closure of much of America brought, now the same people want to argue over the Covid case numbers. It's 135K dead now. They said it's just like the seasonal flu. A bad seasonal flu results in 60K deaths. Covid has killed 135K in just four months and it's spreading rapidly, with no end in sight. The flu goes away in summer, Covid is accelerating. So, now they want to argue numbers. Suppose for the sake of argument that Covid is over reported by 20%. So there are 108K deaths. What's the difference? The hospitals in FL, AZ, CA are reporting that they are being strained, reaching limits of resources with cases. Why are people insisting on arguing over the exact numbers, instead of doing what's required to get Covid under control? The simple answer is it's sadly all become nothing but another stupid political operation, that Trump and the trumpets are in total denial, that they will ignore the fire burning America down, because they want to hold on to power. It's obvious that Trump is so incompetent, so unfit, so mentally compromised at this point, that he needs to resign so that we can start fixing this before more people die.

Not to worry.  This is just nature fixing Social Security and other annuity based pensions.

That's some totally failed logic. Because a source has a declared political bias, that means they have to stay accurate?

1 +1 =6

So how is it then that according to you, FL is fudging the Covid numbers? I know, it's all a big conspiracy to screw the economy so Trump won't be re-elected and even DeSantis, a Republican is in on it.

1 + 1 = 6

How about that child sex ring that Hillary is operating out of that DC pizza parlor? What have they been up to lately? Have Trump and Ruddy found the DNC servers in Ukraine and the Ukranian that owns Crowdstrike yet?

Your reading comprehension really sucks. The author of the piece was born, raised and lived in Florida.
