Mini-Split Operating Temps

I'm new to mini-split heating/cooling systems. On many of the operating instructions I see:

"Operating Ambient The minimum outdoor operating ambient in cooling mode is 55°F, and the maximum outdoor operating ambient in cooling mode is 125°F. The maximum outdoor operating ambient in heating mode is 66°F."

The minimum and maximum outdoor ambient range for cooling seem fine. But, if the maximum outdoor ambient range for heating is 66°F, what if it's 67°F outside, and I want to heat the house to something higher than 67°F, do I have to wait for the outside temperature to drop below 67°F ?

Do I need to keep an eye on the outside temperature?

I've got to be missing something here.

IDK, I agree, it sounds strange to me. Have you looked at manuals from similar units? It could be that something got lost in the translation from Chinese.

Yep, I've looked at three different manufacturers, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, and one other. Weird. I may just have to do a 'contact us' thing and ask what happens if I disobey.

That's a good question too, like does it have a lockout and won't work, does it work anyway or does it blow up? It's not like this is an extreme or unexpected event either. You could have a fall day, have been away overnight with the heat off, come back at noon and it's now 67F outside, 65 inside and you want to heat it to 70.
