Update:

The other day, I noticed the circular tray inside rotating when I opened the door. At first, I wasn't sure what I was seeing. But it happened a second time. So, looks like something is starting to go. I caught it doing it again. It was when it had minutes set, but had been stopped by opening the door. Somehow the rotation doesn't stop now sometimes. I guess it could be some software glitch, I will try unplugging it and see if it happens again. Whatever it is, it's not doing it all the time, at least not yet.

I kind of like have having a microwave above the range (I have GE JVM3160R FSS 30? Over-the-Range Microwave Oven reviewed by

We have an electric ra nge, so there aren't too many flames and the ventilation system built into the microwave works beautifully.

Being somewhat short and using the microwave to sometimes actually cook heavy stuff in not good. We opted for a built in above a wall oven. My wife still sometimes complains that it's too high. When the original oven died, I replaced it with an inverter Panasonic. I was able to eek out another inch lower by cutting out a bit of the cabinet floor where the oven mounts. But it's still "too high" if you get my drift. About now I start singing the Randy Neuman song, "short people have no reason ....."

This thread might be old but many of the viewers might be looking out for some advice in the same. So, if one is looking for a 1.1 cu. ft. microwave, then what kind of microwave are you looking for - a built in microwave or an over the range microwave. You must know the difference which makes it easier for you to understand. and purchase the best one for yourself.

I've had rather poor experience with Frigidaire appliances and would avoid them:

 1. Conflicting control design between use-together products (range and over the range microwave)
 2. Customer service unresponsive; nonsense explanations for serious problems in newly purchased top of the line range; never fixed
 3. Appliances don't function as advertised and according to their controls; missing key features.
