Whoever said it probably isn't reading anymore, but despite what some say about locks only keeping out honest people, what I see on the web shows otherwise.
"I'm in [an older middle class n'hood in Baltimore] and biggest issue we have is people walking up and down streets going in unlocked cars rummaging for money."
Also I've seen quite few Ring Doorbell videos that show a man trying a car door, finding it locked, and then going somewhere else.
Plus I think I've seen quite a few where someone comes to the door, maybe he knocks, and he leaves. Did he leave only because he realized there was a camera** or because the door is locked. Because he is so close to the camera and the door, one can't see if he tries the doorknob. **Plus what about the houses that had no camera to scare him away. Did he come in or was the lock enough to stop him. When they want to steal a package from the stoop, they are good enough at hiding their face.
