leaky regulator

I bought a makita MAC5200 with a tank pressure of 140 psi and an output regulator, the output regulator leaks like a civ is there any way to fix this? what it is, is a check valve that is depressed by a threaded bolt to increase pressure, however the air just escapes through the threaded part and leaks around the cover. any ideas would be much appreciated

You will probably be replacing the regulator. You can take it off and most of them will disassemble. Clean what you can and look for anything obvious. If the diaphragm is torn. . . .
