i have a nice, full-size memory foam mattress and it's sitting on a futon frame. it's time for a new frame but most of the platform frames i've seen are not what i want. what i want is a wrought-iron bed with the scrolly iron stuff. the question: if i found a frame with at least a 12" clearance from floor to side rail, can i add 3/4" plywood over the slats as base support and call it done? THANKS
iron bed frame to platform frame?

Sure. If that turns out to not be strong enough, use two sheets. Anchor the plywood to the slats (screws?) else the sucker will slide around.
THANKS, HeyBub!
