I'll bet 90% of the noise and almost all the objectionable noise is from the exhaust.
We have a central system and 2 mini splits. so there are lots of options. I really think a mini split in the bedroom is the way to go, even if you are not thinking about the generator. You can keep the bedroom cool at night and let the rest of the house drift up overnight. By morning it will be cool again anyway most of the time.

We did the same at the insurance offive. Poer port on the outside connected to 2 duplex outlets on the inside - plug in extention cords from there.
Bet you that hundred youdidn't get a 5KW Generator AND the conversion foe that hundred - which is what Trader said. I got my conversion kit from US Carb too
Virtually ALL inverter units throttle back under light load - and a Yamaha is as quiet as a Honda.
The Av Gas will lead foul the engine VERY badly - particularly if not run lean of peak. - but it DOES stay fresh. 2 year old avgas is "fresdher" than 6 month old mogas.
My Champion drops a bit on propane (about 7Kw on propane and 9 on gasoline) and on natural gas I'mlimitted to 5Kw. I suspect part of the problem is I SHOULD have a 1 inch gas line for the 10 feet from the meter instead of half inch.
ALL current avgas has lead - and even 100 Low Lead STILL has over 4 times as much lead as the old leaded Sunoco 260 had.
My 7kw will freeze a single 20 lb tank at full load on a cold day - I run it on 2 - plan to run on NG if a long outage and I run out of both gasoline and propane.
Plenty with electronics in it doesn't care and will run fine over a big range of voltages.
Are you just saying you can't get enough gas to the generator to run at full capacity? Mine clearly does run 98% of rating on either propane or gasoline. I suppose I could have plugged in a couple of 60 watt lamps to get over 100% but I bet it would still work on either. I do have a 3/4" pipe feeding it at the "high pressure" 10 PSI before the secondary regulator that gets me to 11" H2O that feeds the demand regulator. This is the same pipe that feeds a 330,000 BTU pool heater.
That is true, Anything relatively new will run on anything from
100-250v 50 or 60 hz and that is guaranteed. The actual "mouth" is wider than that.
Perhaps the generator on gasoline would drive more current but it is academic since the breaker will cook off at 25 amps or perhaps a little less. The engine was having no problem maintaining speed at
5400 watts on my test and I was tripping the breaker on propane.
I've even seen some that claim 277V.
That's the difference - mine has the breaker big enough to handle the full output of my generator without tripping - I can stall the generator on natural gas long before the breaker trips - I could stall the generator on gasoline before the house breaker trips - but the generator breaker would trip first.

does anyone have experience with how they handle surge loads
the surge starting a fridge compressor or a furnace blower can be 2x or 3x or more the steady draw and can last for 1 second until it gets up to speed.
a conventional generator will not cruise right through that due to the inertia of all that rotating metal
but an inverter is solid state and may not like a 3x overload even for 1 second and might trip off before 1 second.
you may need an inverter generator that is rated for the surge.
anybody been there and done that?

It is an interesting question. A conventional would seem to have an advantage there, ie the stored reserve of energy in a faster spinning rotor and engine.
