That holds for most retired government workers. Today industries are dropping pension and giving employees extra money for 401k's. You quit or retire, there is no pension or health care supplemental.

I know of a naval commander who just retired on a disability for two hip replacements. Not only is he collecting above his normal pension but has gone back to his job at the Pentagon as a paid consultant.

Then there is a guy I know collecting pensions from the city, county and state.

Unless it has radically changed RPI football coaches double as janitors. There was a record setting team -- they lost 47 straight. Nobody gave a damn about football.

Now if you were talking about hockey or even lacrosse...

UM had a coach that imported some players from Compton. Their skills were football and home invasions. After getting busted for the latter the college to the coach they didn't need to win that bad and fired him.

The players were smart enough to only invade homes occupied by other students, usually looking for drugs. Trying a random house could have cut their careers very short.

There are a lot of jobs that do not pay all that well and have no pensions. Some are very physically demanding such as roofers and other construction workers.

In one way I lucked out. The company I worked for was sold. I had just turned 56. We were given the option of staying on if we wanted to at the new company name. However there would not be a pension under the new company but we could keep the pension of the old company. As I had enough years in for full retirement I stayed on, but was collecting the pension of the old company at the same time.

All of my cars for the last 45 years have also had AC.

When visiting someone, I borrowed a car with a sunroom for one day. I wanted to like it but I couldn't. A sunroof is nothing like a convertible. It's of no value in the view, the breeze, the feeling. It's just a hole in the roof.

Now some are calling them moon roofs.

I have opened mine 2 or 3 times in the summer to see if it would help vent out the hot air before the AC had time to cool off some.

I think that is one of the dumbest things that can be put on a car. Lots of expense and possable leaks. Bet almost no one uses rhem.

I opened mine the first day I bought the car. Not since. The climate control is excellent.

Corse nothing like that ever happens in the USA eh ?

Corse nothing like that ever happens in the USA eh ?

And you don't get that with the French system.

Doesnt work like that in the UK.

Yah, the Democrat's libturd universities are a giant scam.

At least 75% of a STEM degree could be completed online for no more than the cost of a NetFlix subscription. It might cost another $10k to attend the hands-on labs.

When I want to have a full view and be in the breeze, I hop on my motorcycle.

Do not know where you get your information but not true.

I believe even if you do most of the course work on line today they still charge full tuition.

I always thought them to be a dumb idea. I have ridden in cars with them opened or closed and seen no sense in them. They can also leak and malfunction and just cost more to own.

I got the golden handshake at age 53 after 28 years. Pension reduced by

25% because of my age but I got full healthcare. Subsequent retirees got reduced healthcare along with pension. As company further split up they dropped pensions and retiree healthcare for new hires but grandfathered current employers. I ended up consulting for nearly as long as I worked.

My car is five years old. The day I bought it, I opened the roof to see what buttons did what function. Closed it. Lat time used. I do keep the sunshade open though but I've heard too many stories about rattles and stuff so no need to open.

A moon roof is transparent, a sun roof is opaque.

My last two cars each have a moonroof. One is 25 years old, the other

  1. Neither has ever leaked. Both moonroofs are used often in the summertime. Neither has ever cost me a cent to own or maintain.

But facts have never bothered Frank.

I'm active on a car forum. Want a list of names of people that have rattles, leaks, breaks, etc? Hyundai extended the warranty on theirs due to complaints.

From those in the UK in the uk.d-i-y group.

Fraid so. No doctor gets to do anything they like on the side in a NHS hospital.

I'd be interested in statistics, gathered appropriately. I'm not particularly interested in the numbers from a 'car forum', where people who don't have problems never complain abouth them.

I'm not saying it never happens, but Frank implied it always happens, whereas it is more likely to be rather rare.

OJ\K, but you comment that it did not happen on your two cars is meaningless too. I have a friend with a Lexus and BMW and had issues with both. I've not had problems with my Genesis but others have. That is one reason I never open mine.

With lack of a real study, your comment was useless too. It does happen.Comes with my car but given a choice I'd rather have a lower price that class in the roof.

OK, I do not know how insurance gets them in faster but it does.

My other comments based on Reuters not a ng.
