The cliche is true Military leaders always want to fight the last war. I suppose that is why NATO has so much invested in opposing a tank battle. Kursk was the 40s, The 21st century war with Russia will be cyber and economic until the nukes come out. We may still have some "away games" on 3d world soil but I don't see a real war, nose to nose with Russia and that is what an invasion of western Europe would quickly become. I suppose that is why a lot of Europeans want to get the nukes out. Their towns are only
