HVAC system classifications

Hi,

When a system is defined as 2H/2C or some other combination of integers, what do this characterizations mean? Number of zones?

Many thanks in advance,

Sam

Two stage heat/cool, meaning it has two output levels. A two stage furnace that's rated at 100,000 BTU would have that as the second stage and fire at about 70,000 for first stage. The main advantage being that by firing at the lower rate on days when you don't need much heat, it runs longer giving the system more time to move air around and even out the heating.
