LOL, check out the I75 and Florida's Turnpike smerge on Google Maps traffic. Backed up for 30 miles.

We'll soon have the world's longest car wash.

Talked to my brother Thursday. They were in the Everglades, heading for Ft. Myers and then up the west coast Traffic but not that heavy. Apparently he outsmarted all those stuck in traffic on I 95 and I 75.

He should have just gone up to Broward or Palm Beach. It is just going to be a rainy day there. The eye will be going over Collier and Lee County (Naples/Ft Myers) somewhere and then tracking up the coast.

raffic. Backed up for 30 miles.

The Interstates have been jammed around here with people streaming in from Florida and filling up the hotels and motels. I heard on the talk radio sta tion that a lot of folks are heading on to Tennessee as all the hotels fill up. I was wondering about what part of Florida you are in Greg. Is your ho me in any danger of being flooded? ¯\_(?)_/¯

There is a pretty good chance that the eye goes over my house

Are you evacuating? I hope you and your family remains safe.

I will be here until I can't be anymore. If the predictions are right the surge will be after the storm. I may leave by boat.

The surge could come on a high tide, possibly. The rainfall is not included in the tidal surge. Stay safe! Even a CAT 3 can have gust to

155 MPH.

We miss you today. You guys are about to have the stink knocked off. Not a storm to play around with. I understand staying in place. BTDT on a direct hit. Landfall on the west coast was Marco Island.

The eye went right over the house in Estero at a Cat 3 (120 mph sustained gusting to 130 according to the TV) Lost a lot of trees, 5 screen panels from the pool cage, solars for the pool and the cover to my boat lift. Not horrible considering what it was.

Glad you made it out easy, so to speak. I read you kept a slider open. Folks want to "seal" the house up air-tight. A partially open window on the leeward side will let the pressure out that builds up when the barometer really drops. When the eye crosses, close the window and open one on the other side.

We really never got that much wind right at ground level and I did have my YSI Pro probe going the whole time watching the Bar. It was not significantly higher in the house. I did get a .702 right in the eye tho. (standing outside)

Most people die after the hurricane from tree trimming, generators and other recovery related things.

I was measuring MM Hg. It usually cruises around 760 sumpin. You are talking about BAR. That is 0.936 BAR There may have been some vortex action going on because I was still near the house but I was out in the open.
