Follow up on cell phone

I have had the LG Aristo 3+ and Mint Mobile for about a week now. The phone serves my purpose. I paid about $ 80 for it. It was a Metro by T-mobile that was unlocked and brand new. It does have a t-mobile icon on the apps screen that I don't seem to be able to get rid of, but have not tried hard either.

The signal strength is fine around my house from the cell tower and from a few local trips seems to have good coverage. I did set it to go to wifi for calls when near a wifi system. However I do need it to work in the house as my regular land line is through the internet box so if the internet or power is down I can still make a call to get them restored. Funny in a way that a few weeks ago I was without power for a couple of hours. Fired up the generator and still had internet service. That hapened one time last year.

While rambling on , I must say that little 3.5 or so KW dual fuel generator worked fine. Ran it for about an hour and a half on the propane. Just turn on the bottle and turn it off when not in need. No need to worry about the gasoliene going bad if used only a short time, unlike the 5 kw gas only that I have had for many years.

Not sure what you mean. Is this just one of the many app icons on the screen? If so, you should be able to remove it by pushing on it and sliding it up to the top of the screen. Then it should ask if you want to delete it. If it's the wallpaper for the whole screen, that you can change under settings, then display and wallpaper.

I wouldn't, I'd expect that could create trouble, especially if you're mobile. The Tmobile call coverage so far has worked wherever I've needed it. Good to hear it's working well.

I don't remember but if I suggested that Mint Mobile didn't have coverage at a nearby rural corner, it was probablay not their fault.

Went out there this weekend with Network Signal Info Pro installed, again didn't have data, and the app showed only 2G connection. Came home and when I got to the edge of the suburbs it showed 3G.

Problem must be what I suggested, European phone without the two most popular US bands, 1 and 3, or maybe it's 2 and 4.

So don't buy a phone not meant for the Americas unless you have a good reason

(It does work on band 5, which the major cell company in Guatemala uses, so that will be good if and when I get there.)

I may buy a global phone, or maybe I'll buy an America phone and switch to this one if I go to Europe again.
