Yes it is, but "gutters" is also understood. However "gutters" are more commonly the edge of the roadway where stormwater gathers and flows to the storm sewers.
Cool. Most of what I know about regional differences comes from watching the various TV shows that feature Mike Holmes. I assume you know the name.
Mike Holmes was based near Toronto, with forays to some other regions for special jobs.

yea, he's kinda a "local guy" based about 100 miles from here. Mr "Make it right"
Yep, I remember that. There were also some apparent issues with work he and his team did in New Orleans one hot summer.
