Now, that's a more legitimate response, so I'm willing to share a piece of information with you. No, on second thought, I'll ask you if you would like to put your RA under control? With a drug that would cost about 9 cents a day, and with the only side-effects, if present, being some sleep irregularities and more vivid dreams during the first week or so, and with that the dividend of being less likely to get cancer. That's a question to you, and anyone else.

Where did you get your medical license, doctor?

It is very irresponsible and dangerous to be hawking snake oil in a newsgroup. Surely, there will follow a link to a site where such snake oil can be obtained.

I am a nearly nine year survivor now of 8.5 hour coronary artery bypass surgery and aortic valve replacement surgery. I know about drugs, interactions, reactions, and drugs in general.

The new wave of "supplements" avoid the FDA scrutiny and testing that drugs have to go through, as they are "natural" substances derived from plants all over the world. We have seen an avalanche of energy drinks and sexual stimulators in a can of late, and a lot of these contain these "supplements". They have killed people because of adverse reactions or overuse.

What does anyone expect a used car salesman to say about their product? Same goes for drug salesman, and that runs from the low end streetcorner crack salesman, next up in line supplement salesmen, and all the way to the top of the line TV ads for drugs, whose side effects list spontaneous brain explosions, limbs falling off, suicide, etc, etc, etc, but, hey, they just might work for you.

I took one of the high name sleeping tablets after heart surgery. One time, I talked to my wife for half an hour being totally awake, and not making sense at all. The next time, she caught me just before I stepped off a third story railing at our cabin while looking for the bathroom. They were $110, and I flushed 28 of them.

DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE S*IT YOU HEAR HERE. Go to your doctor if you think you need medicine. If you don't like that answer, go to another doctor. If you don't like that, go to the Mayo Clinic or the like. They have a RA department, and if I hear right, a pretty good one.

If you believe this stuff on the Internet, I have a buddy that has a bridge for sale cheap. He should be out in a couple of weeks, just send me your phone number, and I'll have him call you ...........................

If you notice in my blog, I give very little medical advice, only daily stories of my experience, and things that apply to everyone but not drug related. I could pack the blog with drug names (paid for, of course), but people need to see their doctors, and not get medical advice in a house repair newsgroup.

Thanks Steve I assume you read it. When someone spontaneously comes up with a 249 line response I know it is a canned speech and I didn't open it.

You're right. It was canned. When it went to a Senator. Reader's digest version for the deliberately ignorant, I have nothing to gain by you reading it, nothing to lose by your choosing not to. But there are over 5,000 people that discuss it in a Yahoo group. And several international conferences that ...actually...include...real doctors. And for Steve, who functioned as a patient, I took my nursing degree and spent 15 years in a cardiac cath lab. Just in case someone wanted to check on me.

Then shame on you for giving medical advice in a newsgroup without a disclaimer. You, of all people should know better.

I am a patient, and give state that in all my literature. Also included are chapters and verse that warn patients about taking over the counter medicines, herbs, supplements, things their friends and families suggest, things they read about in wild claims on the Internet, and even foods without asking their doctors first. Just in case someone wanted to check on me.

There's a word for guys like that, and a reason they are best left to their own stupidity.

I don't generally read way off topic threads so I don't know what g has posted there.

For the mainline threads I find g's posts are far more useful than yours. For example he doesn't use irrelevant scam HP ratings to try to make a point. He has broad experience and writes interesting posts.

Yes, he is knowlegeable and often contributes useful and relevant information. More importantly, he doesn't treat the group like a chatroom or a political soapbox, which is why he isn't in the bozo bin with most of the rest of the "top 25" posters.

That doesn't mean he is not thick as a brick, though.
