Door handle question

Inside handle, lever type, on a new door requires a clockwise rotation to open door (handle must be turned up). Turning the handle down does nothing.

When the door is opened with the outside ,thumb lever type, handel the inside lever rotates counte clockwise (handle is turned down).

Would like to have the inside handle open with a down ward movement. Can it be changed to do this?

A lot of times this sort of thing can be fixed by removing the lock/latch mechanizm and rotating it 180 degrees and re-installing. In this case it might mean that the side facing towards outside needs to be turned to face inside, or it could be the side that is up now needs to be turned to face down. Make a pencil mark to note the current possition so you can get back to that point if necessary, and then try a few different positions with it. Don't re-assemble everything tight until you've tested how the inside and outside handles react to your change. Once it works the way you want, tighten everything up and you're done! (Except now it will take you about 2 weeks to remember the handle works the other way now!)

Not with that brand and model of handle.
