I prefer showers. There's always that nagging fear of slipping in the bathtub and falling on my big ass. Discuss...
Do you prefer to take baths or showers?

Showers. Baths are for children.

About 30 years go we stayed at a B & B with a Jaccuzi tub. That was my only tub adventure since i was about 8 years old.
When we remodeled both bathrooms a few years ago we took the tub out and now have a luxurious 60" wide shower. My wife uses a seat in it.
With all the emphasis on making thing accessible to the handicapped, it astounds me that all houses being built today don't have large, walk-in showers.
I designed and built our own house back in 2003.
It is a single level so there are no stairs we may have trouble climbing when we get older.
All of our doorways are 36" wide in case we are ever forced to use wheelchairs. It's also easier to move furniture through the wider doorways.
I built a large 6'x6' tile shower with two heads in our master bath. The entire floor is waterproofed and sloped for drainage. There's no curb, doors, or shower curtains that could make access difficult later on.
You can see photos and a time lapse video on my web site:

Tub vs. Shower - We use the shower the vast majority of the time. But every once in a while it's great to sink down in a tub of warm water, especially when my wife climbs in with me. :)
Showers are about getting clean. Tubs are for relaxation. A hot tub outside is even nicer, but I haven't had time to get ours working the last several years. I prefer a nice quiet soak over all those noisy Jacuzzi bubbles.

If you like the idea of sharing the water with your dead skin cells and whatever other gunk you've tried to wash off of you, then I suppose you feel clean after having one. With a shower, the nasty is sent down the drain; I'm not sharing space with it as I continue cleaning myself.
That makes the entire bath rather pointless, then. Twice the work for the same expected result.
Clean the tub? :P
