DeWalt 18V batteries for tools such as the

I have a bunch of dead 18V DeWalt batteries for my DeWalt tools such as my cordless drill/driver. The part numbers on the batteries are "DC9098" and the drill/driver (for example) is "DC759" & the charger is "DW9116".



My question isn't what batteries to buy as I would normally buy the same battery as I've had (but which are all dead). Which brings me to the question of why buy the same batteries if they've all failed already?



Is there a better battery?



And if I get that better battery, will it fit with the existing charger? What do you guys do to prolong the life of all your cordless DeWalt tools?

Rather than buy new. have them rebuilt.

At the cost of the batteries it seems to be cheaper to just get a new drill and impact kit with the lithium batteries.

There is an adapter to use the newer lithium batteries with the older Dewalt tools. You will need a new charger to match the batteries.

I am not sure of what battery it uses but I did see where some of the tools have a battery pack you wear on your belt and a wire goes to the tool.
