Crawl Space Storage ideas

S > Construction has just been completed on my new home. I would like to store S > some things in the crawl space. IE Christmas tree, old papers, old clothes


I would think storing the Christmas tress would be OK in the crawl space but am thinking the old papers and clothes could get moldy or otherwise damaged. OTOH I did store some stuff in my parents' attic while I was in college but we put heavier-duty plastic trash bags in the boxes, twisted the end and folded it over on itself then used the plastic twist ties to hold.



S > and such. What would be the best way and best method into providing S > "usable" storage space in the crawl space? The crawl space has a sump pump S > installed and a gravel surface with a thick plastic overlay. I thought S > about getting some 2 x 4's and hanging them from the floor joists and build S > a small frame with perhaps a plywood shelf system of some sort, and then S > pack items in plastic tubs. I got this idea because my air handler is S > supported in the crawl space with some metal brackets in this manner.



Yes, I would keep your stored items so there is some air circulating.
