cracking up! Or at least the wall is...

Hi again everyone:

We moved into a 30 year old house about six months ago, and I've recently noticed a crack in the gyprock under one of the windows in our living room. I'm quite certain the crack wasn't there when we moved in. It's about five inches long or so, goes downward from the bottom of the window frame.

Does this sounds like a minor thing that I can just patch and forget about? Or could it be a sign of something more ominous that my bit of crack filler won't fix? Such as a major foundation problem?

Thanks,

KD

Houses can shift season to season, it should be nothing to worry about. Repair it and see how it holds up.
