concrete countertop sealer?

howdy y'all. this is my first google group attempt. i have been searching everywhere to figure out which i should use: a water-based epoxy penetrating sealer or a sealer that actually reacts with the lime in the cement to form a silicate, or both. I want my counters to have a nice sheen to them, but not overly plasticy. I also want maximum stain protection and heat tolerance (e.g. hot pan). I have just finished my first attempt at decorative concrete in my countertop. I polished it with up to 3500 grit diamond pads. I think it looks great. I just want to get it sealed so I can get it out of my garage and into my kitchen...

If anybody has any other suggestions for sealing I'm open to them. Thanks

Max
