Changes to Home Depot military discount

Starting January 1, you'll no longer be able to simply show your military ID at the checkout register to get the 10% discount. Instead, you'll need to go online and create a digital ID, and you'll use that digital ID at the register.

Pro: Starting January 1, you can use your military discount for online purchases.

Con: Starting January 1, your annual maximum military discount is a measly $400.

I wonder is Lowes will be the same way. Right now they are easy. The military discount is automatic if you have a "My Lowes" card. You really just need the bar code sticker on your credit card. You can also give them your phone number or show your Va Card.

Lowes got away from showing military ID 2-3 years ago, which had the side benefit of being able to apply the discount on online orders. So for the most part, HD is just following Lowes now. Except for the annual $400 max, of course. That's disappointing because I'll exhaust that within a few months. I hope Lowes doesn't copy that from HD.
