As long as something is done to prevent damage, which is both expensive and just as, if not more, dangerous than cutting out.
I fascinated my neighbour by causing the blades to stop spinning just by touching the wires together that fed from it. But then he is 85.
Videos of commercial wind turbines failing in fire on Youtube are funny.
Computer control has been around much longer than limp home. My 1998 Golf had a computer but no limp. Same with my 2002 Renault Scenic, 2000 Honda CRV.
