American Hikers have been fined for hiking in Canada - when they were supposed to be passing straight through.
analogous to fish (suckers?) jumping into the boat. Wonder if they were the same ones litteraly bragging about getting around the transborder travel restrictions while eating in a Banff restaurant.
The $1200 fine was a slap on the wrist - as the maximum fine is something like half a million $US ($750,000 Canadian) and a minimum 10 year "ban" on entering Canada - EVEN TO TRANSIT between Alaska and the "Lower 49"
Thats bad. Come to the US and you get free food, place to stay and health care. Probably even some spending money.
