Bet you're feeling a little self-conscious now that you realize there had to be a length of pipe to install into the refrig in the first place! Better to check first than risk a flood!
Also be sure to check the extra length is not caught on something or itself before pulling the refrigerator out too far.
Our shutoff valve is located in the basement - sink is on the opposite side of the kitchen. Is one of the clamp-on-and-puncture types. When we removed the refrig from the kitchen for recarpeting a few months ago the tap did drip a little - let it drip into a coffee can. Didn't leak enough to even cover the bottom of the can.
