Another on topic ! Siding

This week I began an overdue project , putting siding on the house I'm building . I have 250 rough cut (circular saw) 1X10 8 foot pine boards stacked up out next to the shop for the task . Yesterday I hung the first section of house wrap , today I started fitting boards . This first section is the most difficult as there are 2 5X6 double windows plus a five foot french door unit . The door isn't a problem , the windows are ... these windows have a channel 7/8" wide so I'm having to cut the opening then use a router to thin the edge of the board to fit in the channel . I'm working on procedures right now , I've got a "horde" of neighbors descending on our house to help next weekend . I want to make their time as productive as possible . They have this idea that I'm helpful* when they need something repaired in the machine shop ... never underestimate the ability of hillbillies to break and bend s*it ! *The thing is we all contribute where and when we can . And the best part is that nobody's keeping score .

Sorry - I can't picture the issue of window channel vs B&B siding. Are you mounting the windows onto the B&B siding ? ... if so - seems wrong to me .. < ? >

Good luck though - nice to have good helpers ! Hope the weather cooperates. Watch out for the expansion / contraction of the rough cut lumber ! .. it might surprise you - in a bad way - in the future. John T.
