Heading for the wet season

Here in Far North Queensland in the tropics we are heading for the wet season, no it has not started yet, but the temperature is heading up and the humidity is up. Yesterday here it was 35 c (95 f) and 66 % RH.

Down south a few days before summer started they have been having some 40 c (104 f) days Looks like this year is going to be a hot one.

I'd have to do some converting, but we're several below zero C. I grew up here, we do it every year.

I'm glad I'm not cooking in that heat.

In far North Queensland it is Thursday Dec 27, and 10.15 AM, currently a warm sunny day here and it is 32 c (89.6 f) and around 53% RH.

Chris, I am glad it is you and not me in those temps.

23 f = -5 c

Hey, there is this new invention, it is called air conditioning :-)

----------------------------------------------

Actually I have never had connected up the 3 phase power, so I need to run my 3 phase 27 Kw genny if I want the main air conditioning system (6.5 HP) to run, I did this Christmas day as it was around 35 c (around 95 f) here.

We had the oven on and the deep fryer as we had hot roast pork for lunch with roast potatoes cooked in the deep fryer, not like the US ones that are cooked dry in the oven.

There were 4 of us for lunch.

Today just have a small a/c system going in the computer room and I had a small system going in the bedroom.

You get somewhat accustomed to the heat after a while, to a point.

I must get my act together and get that 3 phase power connected.

I have a ducted 2.5 HP system mostly installed to condition the 2 bedrooms and the computer room, but have never piped it fully up, the fan coil unit is piped in the ceiling, but the condensing unit needs piping, so I had better get going on that. All the dampers and ductwork are installed The equipment for the condensing unit is all sitting in the workshop waiting for my touch.

I need to clean up my workshop first..................

The 2.5 system needs a bit of work on the 'engineering' side as there is a thermostat in each room which can turn on the system, it also opens a damper to that room particular rooms only the rooms that are turned on and require conditioning will get conditioning. I have to fit some pressure switches to ensure that the pressures remain within the required parameters (IE turn on another room if it gets too far out of whack.) It will be not only cooling but reverse cycle as well as well as some electric elements (The elements are fitted already)

It is set up like this so as to keep the running costs down. IE only the rooms are turned on will be conditioned, unless of course the pressures switch turn on a second room.

BTW no need to fit a defrost system to the reverse cycle here !!!!!

I have humidistats fitted to control the dehumidification.

I have thought of putting a humidifier in but the heating is not turned on that often, so it hardly seems worth while.
