I have a shelf built from 2" X 4" lumber with a 5/8" particle board top.

It is screwed to stud walls on the back and sides and has (3) 3/8" all thread from the ceiling structure through the plywood top and bolted to a piece of slotted strut under the front edge of the shelf. I need to get a weight capacity label for it so we can use it for storage. My safety guy won't let us put anything on it until we label it for capacity. How can I figure this out quickly? The shelf is 17 1/2' X 5'.

Does Mr. Sticker sleep there, just absurd. Get the stuff you want to load on it and start loading it on and stop when it starts to sag...or falls to the floor. Then, you weigh what you had on there minus 5-lbs. to go make and apply your sticker. You could've done it in less time than it took to ask this question.
