Eggs in Organic Compost ??

May 04, 2012 1 Replies

Hiya, I have just planted out some strawberries and tomato seedlings in an organic peat free compost. Over the last couple of days I have noticed these small (1 - 3 mm) yellow egg like objects have appeared on and just below the surface.

Does anyone have any idea what they might be ?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Hiya, thanks for replying. I've come to the conclusion that it's some form of fungus, probably due to the high wood content in the compost. I've re-potted and cleaned them all now, so hope for the best.
