also they tend to want acidic soil in a large enough amount to support a rather large plant.
if you can't find a specific species or variety suited to that climate you may need to accept that it just isn't practical or workable.
that said, good luck, i don't know of any such plant offhand but that doesn't mean much as there's a lot i don't know. :)
