Hi All,
I am letting my garlic bed rest for the season before planting peppers or cucumbers in it next season.
My bed it about 6' long by 14" wide. And recessed about 1" below level so water won't run off.
Problem: this presents a lovely toilet for the neighborhood cats. Soft soil and all. And the neighborhood coyotes have been falling down on the job lately.
In the past, I have been putting tooth picks in the soil, but they decompose and it is back to cat crap. Cayenne pepper decomposes and/or washes away.
Here is my (next) solution:
Cat do not like walking on chicken wire, and I can roll it up when I want:
