Been up in the loft doesnt seem to be anything in the way to cause distortion and camera works ok I can still see who is at the door but its a pest with the wavy lines any suggestions thanks

What kind of camera, what kind of wavy lines? (vertical? Horizontal? Moving? coloured?)

Happens when a week signal (bad connectors, couplings, too long a cable) mixes in with EMI from power cables nearby. See if you can move the CCTV cable as far away as you can from any fluorescent lights, power cables feeding high loads, A/C units and other powerful energy consuming devices. Additionally, verify if any of the connectors got loose. If it was working fine before and no electrical equipment was added or relocated, bad connector(s) is the most probable cause.
