Halstead combi, approx three years old.. central heating working fine, but recently having probs with DHW.. the boiler will only fire up on maximum tap openings...
primary flow switch maybe?
any pointers as to fixing the malady gratefully received.

Has the flow of water from the taps decreased over time? ie Do you remember a much better flow?

there's no noticable decrease in the flow rate.. water still flows with gusto when turning on the hw tap.. the difference is, nowadays this is a pre-requisite for obtaining any hot water.. I'm hoping it's just the flow sensor.. BUT got a sneaky suspicion it may go deeper.

Hi malc Sounds like the diverter valve diaphram , very common cause of this.
