My 10+ year old combi gas Vaillant ecoTEC pro 28 boiler has become very temperamental with hot water delivery. The flow has always been low - about the equivalent of an electric shower. Now it's intermittent - starts hot, then goes cold, then might warm up again. Heating works fine. Couple of things:
- Persistent F22 ('dry fire' - not enough water in the system) and F28 (boiler failed to ignite) fault codes
- At the bath tap, with the boiler switched off, the cold tap delivers
12L/minute, the hot tap 5L/minute. The bath tap and boiler seem to be fed by the same incoming cold pipe. With the boiler switched on, cold tap delivers
12L/minute, the hot tap 4L/minute.
My first guess is that something's restricting the flow of water into or through the boiler. Might this be about right? If so, any suggestions on remedy?
