Contemporary twin flow kitchen mixer

Dec 01, 2009 1 Replies

I'm just about to start a kitchen refit and would like to put a decent modern mono-block mixer in. However, it's mains cold and tank fed hot (as I'd imagine a fair few are).

To balance one of the bathrooms out in this situation recently, I simply used a PRV fitted below the mixer on the cold. But for the kitchen, I actually need a good strong cold water flow for my big ISE waste disposal.

My current kitchen mixer is a twin-flow (quite old - no idea of the brand), but there doesn't seem to be many about these days, and certainly not many nice contemporary ones. Best I've come up with is Ideal Standard "Affinity".

Thoughts/ideas?

TIA, Midge.

For info, a bit of searching (on the term "dual flow" as well as "twin flow") did turn up a handful of quite smart mixers. Problem seems to be the well known european makes such as Hansgrohe etc. do few, if any.

We ended up with one from Carron, but found other companies like Smeg, Abode, and Franke do one or two contemporary dual flow mixers too.

Midge.
