How to find if the floor is made of concrete from the external look

Hi,

I am not related with the world of construction but I would be grateful if I could have any help or hints about this issue.

I prefer to leave in a flat which is not made of wood or paper walls. As a tenant often I had problems hearing other people's TVs or private conversations which resulted in wasting quite some time trying to relocate.

Is there any way I could say about the construction from the external look or shape, age or any other way.

I think I have noticed a correlation that houses which have a flat roof, tend to be made of cement rather than wood. Any commends?

many thanks!

Concrete is more sound resistant than wood, but even in concrete construction of apartments the dividing walls are usually not made of concrete. And certainly, wood-frame construction can be made to be sound proof.

If all you're concerned about is sound, just find some other way to determine how quiet a structure is. It's impossible to tell form the outside just by looking.
