candle wax

A friend of mine has some candle wax on new carpet. What is the best way to get it off without damaging the carpet. Thanks.

Take the time and remove as much as possible using ice and scraping with a knife, being careful not to cut the carpet. Use a vacuum to remove the pieces. Repeat with the ice, scraping, and vacuum. With patience you should most of the wax out. Then place a brown paper bag over the wax and iron the bag to draw the wax into the paper bag. Repeat with more brown paper bag. Use a low heat setting.

In place of the brown paper bag you can use paper towels. And, of course, make sure the iron's steam setting is "off"!

Hi bonnie,

Take a look at

formatting link
which has step-by-step examples of how to remove a wax stain. Although it's on a t-shirt th same method will work on carpet.

Hope this helps
