I recently removed all of the carpet in our home. All but 1 room had penetrating sealed floors. The floors look like new! They have a satin look. The problem is they have a very fine padding residue pattern. (Not Rubber) The padding was an old hemp or something with a maroon color to the backing. How can I remove this without affecting the finish on the floor ? It is very, very light.

Try taking a picture and bringing it by your home depot or lowes. If you apply the wrong product you could damage your floors, so I suggest you ask a professional and bring a picture.
