It looks like a 26 cu. ft. capacity (25.8 cu. ft to be precise). The dimensions are likely 36" W x 33" D x 69-3/8" H for the side-by-side model

In general, the third digit in Sears/Kenmore refrigerator model number after the dot signifies the cubic foot capacity:

253.xx1xxx - 21 (20.6 cu. ft capacity) and the size is likely 30" W x 31-3/4" D x 69" H 

253.xx3xxx - 23 (22.6 cu. ft capacity) and the size is likely 35-5/8" W x 28-1/4" D x 69-3/8" H

253.xx6xxx - 26 (25.8 cu. ft capacity) and the size is likely 36" W x 33" D x 69-3/8" H

253.xx8xxx - 28 (27.8 cu. ft capacity) and the size is likely 36" W x 33-1/8" D x 69-3/8" H

This is for the "253" manufacturer code - Frigidaire/Gibson. They also sell 24 and 25cu. ft models by other manufacturers but the model number conventions still stand.

That does not seem to be the case with my Kenmore refrigerator. I have a 253.6687... According to the encoding scheme you posted, it would be a 28 cu. ft, 36" W refrigerator. But I know it is 30" W. I believe it is 18cu. ft. This refrigerator of mine was purchased in 2005. mind you.

The digit only shows the one's place, the 10's place has to be inferred from dimensions or an estimate. So a xxx.xx8xxx is likely an 18 cu. ft., not 28.
