It's too old for me to find a manual on it. But, ereplacementparts.com confirms it takes SAE-30 oil. Which, always (vertical engines) means you have an oil plug instead of a dipstick. Meaning, you fill it up to the plug's threads for it to be properly full (on a flat level surface). Fill it and then tip it over to let all of the oil drain out into some measured container to give you the capacity.
