Worster Bosch 280 Boiler - Very Hot Tap Water.

Hiya,

Over the last couple of weeks the water out of the taps has become very hot (scalding). The boiler is on on a maintenace contract with british gas. They have come out and looked and said there is nothing that can be done. "The temperature is dictated by the amount of gas pressure which is preset in the factory." The temperature gauge on the front is only for central heating apparently. Is this correct? What could have caused it to suddenly start happening?

Any advice appreciated.

Not really, it's the temperature for the primary circuit. It shouldn't be used to control either heating or hot water temperature.

You should have a thermostat strapped to the hot water cylinder to tell the boiler when the water is hot enough. It may have become loose and not in firm contact with the metallic cylinder, or a wire may have become broken/loose meaning the boiler does not receive the "satisfied" signal.

If it's a combi, ignore the above.
