Windscreen scratch

Any suggestions? First frost and I went in the garage for de-icer and a rubber squeegee. I picked up one I had used for grouting. I rinsed it under the tap - but not well enough. I managed to put some fine scratches into my windscreen. A replacement will cost me a 75 Excess.

Try buffing it with some jewellers rouge?

I have many times used Cerium Oxide, either on a wet rag or on a leather di sk in an electric drill. Don't get the glass hot, and don't breathe the Cer ium Oxide.
