Window Not Opening

Hi I have Plastic Double Glazed Windows the one in the Kitchen wont open I have removed the Handle to Find a Square Similar to the type on door Handles I have Turned the Square That seems to turn two Bolts Locking the Window Either Side (Inside The Window) Trouble is its not working the square will Turn ok but will not release the Bolts all there is is the two screws that holt the Handle in Place and no other Way to get into the Window to release the lock Any Help Will Really Be Apreciated

You can only dismantle the lock mecha on dg by access to the edge of the window. Nothing you can do but live with it or smash it out. Sorry. Maybe you'll learn not to buy these plastic windows in future.

How long have you had the windows fitted/how old are they? Are they still under garrantee? When you removed the Handle to Find a Square Similar to the type on door Handles I have Turned the Square That seems to turn two Bolts etc etc What you have done is removed the handle from the window frame, and found that the handle has a square bolt in it which goes into or fits into a 'gearbox' inside the window frame. It sounds like the gearbox is nacked and you will need another one. The gearbox has a sliding lever at each end wich moves the bolts on the window to either open or close it.
