Thanks for posting that. My old B&D planer is in otherwise excellent nick apart from a shattered depth adjuster knob which rendered it pretty near unusable. Despite the planer being about 20 years old I was able to get a replacement knob from them and restore it to it's former glory.

No problem, I'm trying to find the model number of my B&D Workmate to aquire a new part, does anyone know where the model number is situated on the workbench as there are so many that have been made. Mines very old I'd say it was going back at least 10 to15 years?

Most odd?

Indeed - I've sent for some new wheels for my Tough Truck, which will hopefully give it a new lease of life. When I previously contacted B&D, they wanted to sell me the whole axle assembly for some extortionate price - but these people do the wheels separately.

I can't get to mine at the moment, but ISTR that the model number (WMxxx) is stamped on the metal frame in fairly large characters.

My oldest workmate (I've got several) must be approaching 30 years old - yours is a spring chicken!

Mine must have missed the stamping machine then. :-(

I wasn't going to give my age out. :-)

Thanks for that.

I've got a pre B&D one - all ally castings. ;-)

Workmate spares are *extremely* expensive. A couple of years ago I checked out the price of a complete set of rubber feet (8 in total for the dual height one) and a couple of handle knobs for the vice and it came to around 25 quid.

Thanks again.

=A38 bit arrived yesterday, =A360ish jigsaw repaired today, seems as good as new. I'll delete that one from the Christmas list.

The problem was a worn bush supporting the gear that drives the pendulum bit.
