Some kind of metal sheeting ?

Bit of a odd question here.

On my property there is a small area at the rear which there is a outdoor bit the backdoor leads to and has some metal bars up (cris crosstype), problem being sometimes the kids play out there in the sandbox I just put there but people walk on by and stare into my home and at the kids and its become a problem since a weirdo started trying to talk to them and ran off as I came out!

So what I was thinking was some kinf od sheeting ? like mesh or something ? to cover it maybe halfway up and give us all some privacy and maybe cable tie it onto the bars ?

Not being very good at DIY could anyone offer some guidance as I would be very appreciative of some help.

I don't want to block off all daylight like a vampire just creat a little privacy for the kids really and for me to wonder around in my leopard skin thongs

Thanks

Expanded metal would probably be what you are looking for.

Why does it need to be metal?

You can buy brushwood screening on a roll, about 5 metres long and 1 metre high, these are quite cheap and look quite natural.

Is the wierdo a midget?

Under 1 metre (100cm or 3"3' ) high?

Just asking

Not a good idea.

For one you need to close it in. two, a metal panel will look crap.

Plant a hedge, and be secluded next year.

It is, however and unlike your suggestions, what the OP asked for

Would you like to explain that comment in a way that other people can undertsand it?

Did you actually look at some of the materials on offer on the link?

Plant a hedge that gows that quickly and you will forever be cutting it.

You can buy brushwood or bamboo screening up to 2m high. However, IME, the wire holding it together is only good for a couple of seasons or so.

hmmm interesting idea, but I'm no good at gardening things, might look more into that idea.

Good point it was just the first idea I had. Wood would look nicer and perhaps could put some climibing ivy or it ? Or would that make it look a bit like a witches window...

I'll have a look around down the local B&Q or wickes.

Thanks

If you do go with wood I'd use something much tougher than regular trellis, thats easy to just punch through and take. EML I'd be wary of, it tends to be sharp, and doubly so where cut.

Its sad that anyone talking to a kid is regarded as weird today. I dont think all the adults I spent time with as a child were weird.
