Professionaly-done bath-to-shower conversion - roughly how much?

ISTR it is not uncommon in places like Thailand in cheapo-crappo hotels/hostels to have a wet room with a large container of water in the corner (to use as a manual shower with a bucket), the room draining into a squatter in the middle, allowing you to carry on both activities simultaneously if you so wish.

You can also hang a shower curtain from the ceiling (or a hospital-style straight/curved rail projecting out of the wall) to reduce splashing out of the 'entry' side of the shower. There will still be some 'wet socks syndrome', but the key on that is to get the floor gradient steep enough so only the shower area is affected.

If you don't have space for a fixed ledge, you could also go for a fold-down seat (like the sort you get on buses and trains but without the spring close!).

I've seen one like that... in student accommodation that was converted to 'en-suite' by adding a bathroom slightly larger than a phone box. The shower head emerged over the basin between the mirror and the lamp, with the toilet being slightly off to one side. It was rather embarassing if you went to wash your hands and turned the wrong tap...

No, it is less. The bath will be worth £10-15, so could be either weighed in, or there are plenty of people who will take it for you, no-one wants 2nd hand plastic baths, so the worker will have to pay to dispose of it.
