Sorry if this is a duplicate post.

I've never tried their reels, but the loose lengths of 13A cable I've had from Lidl have been such good quality that I cut the last one up to make replacement leads for my power tools! Decent gauge cores, thick rubbery outer, very resistant to damage and stays flexible at low temperatures.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember David saying something like:

I thoroughly DON'T recommend the HD worklight...

've had one of those (of identical design) and it's shit. When it's lit, the rubber pongs, even with the recommended 60W bulb in. Every time I go to lift it out of the box, the screwed-together top and bottom have parted company and several times the same thing has happened in use when it's been hanging by the hook - the result being a bottom section, complete with lamp, falling to the floor. This leads to a smashed bulb, with open live end bared to all.

A really nasty design - AVOID.

The one on the link has a 15w energy saving bulb though, so overheating shouldn't be so much of a problem.

The ponging isn't really the main issue - the real shortcoming of the design is the poor way the base and top are held together.

Thanks for that.

I'll give the cable reel a try then, I have has some good experience with Aldi products in the past.

I had one similar from Wickes that did exactly the same thing (not ponged, fell apart), looked identical.

If you have put a 60W bulb in you have melted it. It is a LE lamp holder and comes with a 15W LE bulb so it doesn't get hot.

No, you clot. This is an older lamp of identical design - it says use a

60W bulb. FFS do you think I'm stupid enough to use a grossly overpowered bulb?

Which does nothing to address the ultra-shit design.
