HELP!! central heating installation-where can i find a website or book/video

i have bought half dozen books,seasrched the web for hours-AGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH! ALL I WANT IS A book/website /cd anything that will tell me from start to finish how to install central a heating system,with info like limits on notches depth and diistance from walls,pipe runs,radiator sizing,etc. also-if i fit a boiler,and flue,and leave the gas connections to a corgi guy,am i ok?wickes,b+q,even corgi website doesnt give a black and white,yes or no answer?

Hey,

This manufacturers site is also pretty good for the joist regs and has some nice pics to help you visualise things, I'm about to use this stuff for my first central heating installation...

for the boiler I'm in the same boat as you - I'll get someone to do the gas but I'm sure I could fit the rest of it myself but don't know if this is "allowed" or not.

It is allowed to do your own gas if you know what you are doing. However, letting the CORGI do the gas would be a good idea as there are many things you need to know about running gas pipework that aren't immediately obvious. You should also let them do the flue, although predrilling the wall would be a good idea. They will have all the specialist equipment for detecting microscopic leaks and analysing the flue gases, which won't be worth your while obtaining for one install.
