Cental Heating Diverter Valve (where can I find it?)

Oct 09, 2006 1 Replies

I have a Glow Worm 45 back boiler gas central heating system which wa

installed in 1991.It is only giving me hot radiators but no hot runnin water for a bath etc only cold water is coming through.I also have th hot water cylinder in the loft.I'm led to believe the diverter valv must be the problem as I have had very occasional times when hot wate will actually flow through the bath taps.Do you know where the diverte valve will be,how to check whether it's knackered or faulty & is i diyable to replace ?

many thank

You need to have a good look for it, nobody here will be able to say something along the lines of "it is in the 3rd bedroom at the back of the wardrobe"!

It will be connected to the output of the boiler, so you need to trace the pipes from there - how many pipes exit your boiler? (It could even be in the boiler)

Do you know where your pump is, as it is usually near that.
