Floor covering for garage / utility area

I wondered if someone could recommend what kind of flooring to lay on my new garage floor. It's worth keeping in mind that a car won't be kept in there - it'll be used more as a utility room (boiler, washer, drier, a few tools etc) so we;ll be nipping in and out of there from the kitchen in our stocking feet. I rather fancied that kind of rubbery textured stuff, like you get in public toilets with a sort of rubbery skirting strip too (I look at the floor rather than the bloke next to me!), rather than floor paint or a lino offcut. We're trying to do it on a limited budget, so any kind of tile type things I could install on my own would be a bonus. Can anyone recommend anything, and a supplier?

Cheap vinyl, or concrete paint.

The stuff you describe is effing expensive.

Vinyl flooring, comes on a roll, similar to lino, any price you want to pay and in a thousand different patterns and colours - it comes in 3m and 4m wide rolls.
