Flipover basin waste

Having had an unsatisfactory time with spring-loaded pop-up wastes, has anyone any experience of flipover (turnover) captive basin wastes?

TIA

I've found that the slightest bit of grit or sand and the bloody things will not move. My opinion is give them a miss.

Yes. Forget it. Unless there is and remains a perfect seal with the O-ring, they will let water through - increasingly quickly with time.

If you use a good quality popup waste, it's a far better solution. I've used Hansgrohe ones in new installations and had no issues at all after long periods of use.

And I have one of the "captive" ones .Trouble with it is that it keeps falling back down in the waste and stopping the water running away .Plug and chain .That's the best .
